English Conversations that matter - Beyond Small Talk (B2/C1)

This course is designed for upper-intermediate and advanced learners (B2–C1) who can understand authentic English and want to become more fluent, confident speakers. You don't need perfect grammar—just the ability to discuss ideas and express your opinions in English.
Materials
• TED Talks – to be watched before the lesson
• Breaking News articles – materials to be sent before the lesson
• Topics chosen by the participants
Materials will be sent at least two days before each lesson (often earlier).
How will the course work?
This is a 90-minute online conversation course. Participants prepare for each lesson by watching a TED Talk or reading a short article before class.
During the live online session, we will:
• briefly review the key ideas and vocabulary,
• discuss the topic in pairs, small groups and as a whole class,
• exchange opinions and experiences,
• take part in debates, problem-solving tasks and other interactive speaking activities,
• receive language feedback to improve fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and accuracy.
The focus of the course is on communicating confidently in English, expressing ideas clearly and discussing interesting, real-world topics in a relaxed and supportive online learning environment.
