In this course we will be practicing conducting conversation at an elaborate level and will provide further support for learners to keep on developing their linguistic skills and expressive means. We will be working with the following course book: Key Note von National Geographic - Learners are advised to get an older edition of the complete edition (with a DVD; usually available through re-sellers online) 5 – 9 Teilnehmer*innen
In this course we want to read English language texts (approx. 50 pages/week) and use our sessions to discuss what we have been reading as well as clarifying grammar and meaning, which of course entails vocabulary work. Depending on participants interests, we can decide together whether we want to read fact or fiction, long or short texts. To the first session I will bring a short story. 5 – 9 Teilnehmer*innen
Are you interested in literature? Would you like to improve your English while enjoying a wide range of literary texts? This course is designed as a guided book club; we will read, enjoy and discuss various short stories or a novel by contemporary authors. Each session will allow you to improve your current language skills, while giving you the tools to actively participate in our roundtable discussions and related class discussions. We will also explore language and its use as a cultural expression, allowing us to move away from grammatical rules and structures to simply enjoy literature. Weekly homework in the form of readings, and/or reasoning and intellectual tasks are an essential part of the course; participants should be prepared to engage with the chosen literary work at home. This will allow them to actively participate in class and thus maximise their learning experience. Semester course for students with a good B2 level or higher. 8 – 10 Teilnehmer*innen
